CloseIn 1 Peter 4:7-11, Peter begins with the reminder that the end of all things is near and concludes by bursting out in doxology, praising God. Sandwiched in between these two cosmic statements is something that is so ordinary that it's almost jarring - "offer hospitality to one another." What is hospitality? It’s clear that Christianity is not in the driver’s seat of cultural influence. The church is not the center of town or the voice of the public conscience.
