Micah PortisYouth Ministry Assistant

Biography

I was born in Abington where I spent the next 17 years of my life. I was able to have the privilege of going through the Chelten Youth from grades 6-12. After this, I went to school at Cedarville University for two years on track for a 5 year Masters in Divinity with a Bachelors in Biblical Studies. In August 2019, I transferred to Cairn University to work on the same major while working with Chelten Youth.

Why Youth Ministry?

I love youth ministry because it is such a crucial time for the kids. I grew to love this age group as I went through youth group and was able to ask hard questions while living life with the leaders and fellow students. I now hope to give the kids a clear picture of who Jesus is and how he has loved me and all of them.

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

John 17:3 “Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.”
